KFC has the most confusing marketing direction ever.
I remember months ago when they were going all out on having a female Colonel Sanders.
Now this?
I'd love to be a fly on the wall during their "Mad Men meetings" for their direction.
Their product has definitely gone downhill though. That's for sure.
- ffhhj 6y agoIt makes a lot of sense when you notice fast food marketing has been related to "clowns" for years.
- kaycebasques 6y agoThe marketing direction strikes me as nihilistic and absurd. It's a bit disturbing. They also put out some movie on Lifetime channel recently where Mario Lopez plays a sexy Colonel Sanders caught in a violent love triangle: https://www.eater.com/22163283/lifetime-kfc-mini-movie-will-star-mario-lopez-as-colonel-sanders https://www.eater.com/22163283/lifetime-kfc-mini-movie-will-... On the other hand, we're talking about it here, and they're getting publicity, so maybe it's working as intended.

- dfxm12 6y agoSince 2015, they've had a gimmick around always changing up who portrays Sanders, including Reba McEntire briefly 2018. They haven't gone "all out" on any one Sanders, so it's not really clear what you're on about.
