Why would they do that? Then they couldn't hide all the pork in there and then feign ignorance when it's eventually uncovered. Why people assume politicians work for them and not their own self-interests always amazes me. This isn't a democrat or republican problem - it's a political machine problem and in this respect there is zero difference between the "two parties".
