Seed firing drones that plant thousands of trees/day
- londons_explore 6y agoI'd like to see a rundown of the total estimated costs per live tree in 5 years... I suspect this approach will end up costing a lot more than just throwing a sack of seeds out of a plane, or hiring minimum wage workers to plant saplings.
- curryst 6y agoThe cynic in me really wonders if the money (and tech) for this is coming from a defense company. This system seems like it could be easily adjusted to fire tear gas, pepper spray, phosphorus, CBN payloads, maybe thermite for anti-vehicle workloads, probably even real bullets. This seems like the perfect opportunity to test out their target acquisition system. "Shoot this seed in between the treetops" doesn't seem dramatically different from "Fire this cartridge down on this person's head while they're in a crowd". Perhaps I've just grown too jaded.
