I don't think RISC makes software more complex, rather the contrary. You need to use more instructions to do the same task, but they are simpler, more regular.

I don't think RISC makes software more complex, rather the contrary. You need to use more instructions to do the same task, but they are simpler, more regular. Especially when writing compilers, RISC is actually a nice target.
