Very impressed. I am working on a global directory of all cyber security vendors. As an industry analyst one of the first things I do is search things like Pitchbook, Crunchbase, or CBInsights, for categories of companies. Sadly, categorizing companies is extremely difficult. I have done it manually for the 3,000 vendors in my database. A search on your data reveals only companies with "cybersecurity" in their names. That will miss most of the 174 UK cybersecurity product vendors. Thanks for sharing your work!
- osrec 6y agoThanks for the feedback! You have an interesting use case - would it be helpful if we provided the ability to filter all companies under a particular SIC code?
- darrenwestall 6y agoThat, with an API would have me as a paying customer. We have a project on our backlog to build this ourselves - I’d rather pay for a SaaS and concentrate on other things. Happy to discuss our use case, email is in my profile.
- netman21 6y agoNot for my purposes I am afraid. SIC codes tell you very little about what a modern company does. Oracle for instance has SIC Code 7371 - Computer Programming Services.
