Major Design Changes Coming in Gnome 40, Out Next Year
- emptyparadise 6y agoLooks a lot like Elementary. I like that GNOME didn't go all in with flat design.
- systemvoltage 6y agoI think the contemporary design circles have forgotten what an icon is supposed to function as. It needs be unique (hence the term icon), unambiguous, and instantly recognizeable. It also needs to embody its meaning using familiar/legacy semiotics - saving a file is a floppy disk even though we don't use those things anymore.
- Closi 6y agoLooks like a mix of OSX and android. Not sure if they are targeting this as a hybrid OS or just having an identity crisis.
- robgibbons 6y agoIt looks really good, and hopefully will improve the experience for new users. My only question is whether you can choose to boot into the Activities view versus booting into a given workspace. I rarely ever use workspaces, so it would be a slight annoyance.
