It's really sad.
- lukifer 15y agoThis is a frequent pattern in many contexts. A wave of immigrants gets demonized, they integrate over the course of a few generations, and then they turn around and demonize the next wave of immigrants. A school of art or literature survives the scoffing of the old guard, only to become the old guard themselves, et cetera.
