IIRC, the draw was "you don't have to use plus signs" and the other options, and you didn't...until Google started trying to read between the lines of our searches and we started wishing Google had plus signs. Google's aversion to zero-result queries is a problem, and possibly the problem, with their "accuracy," so to speak.
