Hard to imagine someone dedicated to pulling off a prank like that.
- jacquesm 6y agoEspecially under water.
- nix23 6y agoHard to imagine a painting/carving of a elephant/mammoth can survive that long under water so near the ground. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/9d/aa/27/9daa2784a29d6e6ce75505f4f23b8b4b.jpg https://i.pinimg.com/originals/9d/aa/27/9daa2784a29d6e6ce755... https://www.underwatersculpture.com/wp-content/galleries/homepage/Silent-Evolution_Mexico_clean_diver_Jason-deCaires-Taylor_Sculpture.jpg https://www.underwatersculpture.com/wp-content/galleries/hom... https://theoutline.com/post/872/can-you-touch-the-statues-at-this-underwater-museum?zd=1&zi=5qssk7ee https://theoutline.com/post/872/can-you-touch-the-statues-at...
- kkoncevicius 6y agoI think those elephant lines were supper-imposed on the image to highlight the possible outline of an elephant sculpture. Not the actual picture on the rock.
- nix23 6y agoI just hope they have a higher resolution of that rock without "supper-imposed" lines. I call it bullshit. Just look how beautiful it is: https://holleyarchaeology.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/mastodon.png https://holleyarchaeology.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2... But no high-res pic of the real stone without "supper-imposed" lines. Oh btw they found crystal pyramids: https://archaeology-world.com/shock-claim-crystal-pyramids-found-beneath-bermuda-triangle/ https://archaeology-world.com/shock-claim-crystal-pyramids-f... Oh and that: https://archaeology-world.com/ancient-native-american-burial-site-blasted-for-trump-border-wall-construction/ https://archaeology-world.com/ancient-native-american-burial... But what i see is a damaged cactus...not cool...thanks trump!
- kkoncevicius 6y agoI would call it fake, if not for the website linked in top comment within this thread, that seems to be maintained by the founder of the stone site: https://holleyarchaeology.com/wordpress/index.php/the-truth-about-the-stonehenge-in-lake-michigan/ https://holleyarchaeology.com/wordpress/index.php/the-truth-...
- nix23 6y agoThat's John O’Shea (one really simple google search): https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/lakehuron-arch/lab-members/john-oshea-2/ https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/lakehuron-arch/lab-members/john-... His publications: https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/lakehuron-arch/shipwrecks/publications-2/ https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/lakehuron-arch/shipwrecks/public... His actual research: https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/lakehuron-arch/caribou-hunting/research/ https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/lakehuron-arch/caribou-hunting/r... >>Dr. John O’Shea from University of Michigan has been working on a broadly similar structure over in Lake Huron. Yeah sure...what a wannabe try-to-sound-real sentence. Ever looked at the backside of the moon? You Sir are a big disappointment for HN.
