Again - lockdown is a policy advocated by the rich. It is a policy only wealthy nations can afford - and even then it’s massively disruptive. On the individual level, not everyone can Zoom to work.
It is seriously tone deaf and divorced from normal, working class reality to just say “why can’t everyone stay home?”
And then suggesting people are evil if they don’t want to.
- jasonlaramburu 6y agoDo you agree or disagree that if everyone stayed home, the virus would go away?
- gnusty_gnurc 6y agoI bet you went to an Ivy or something, this is the theoretical oversimplification a PhD would say. "Why don't the evil little people just stay home?"
- jasonlaramburu 6y agoSo you disagree that if everyone stayed home the virus would go away?
- Viliam1234 6y agoWell, some people can't stay at home because they are poor, and some can't stay at home because they are evil. For example, if you don't stay at home because you need to get to work and there is no option to work from home, you are probably poor. But if you don't stay at home because you are like "who cares about thousands of people dying, I want to go to a concert now, and anyway it's mostly old people at risk and I am young", I would frankly call that evil.
