- m463 6y agoThere are plenty of places apple does not ask and you cannot say no. You have to activate your ios device. macos at least lets you look at traffic (tcpdump) and then you notice it phones home all. the. time. every time you boot. every time you use help. You can use the pf firewall, but the os wipes the rules when it wants. Years ago I used to think that linux was a great check-and-balance against microsoft and apple charged for software. Now I think it might be the best choice.
