There's a lot of Wants on this page that are not Needs and people generally do a really terrible job at distinguishing between them. Credit cards exacerbate this issue not only because you can spend beyond your means but because the transaction doesn't have the same psychological impact. I believe this is the same reason company push on "points" or "coins" for transactions in their apps/sites.
