I'm using Vornado fan with 2 16x20x1 merv 11 filters from lowes (2 to make triangle). And in lowest speed it's very quiet. I have commercial air cleaner and my diy is way cheaper to run and as quiet.

- Mister_Snuggles 6y agoI swear I came across that post at one point - it looks very familiar! I really want to do this because 20x25x1 filters are a LOT easier to find (where I am anyway) than 20x20x1 filters. The only obstacle is that the resulting unit ends up taking a lot more space, and that's at a bit of a premium in the place I need it. If I move the litter boxes to somewhere with more space I will definitely switch to this design.
