Why is there no eBook of Future Shock?
- simonblack 6y ago'Samizdat' or not, there's no shortage of copies in .epub, .mobi or .pdf formats. The lack of 'official' versions just means that the publishers haven't seen enough demand for them to incur the costs of doing so. In a proper world, the exorbitant copyright periods would not exist, and many books would be long out of copyright restrictions and available to all, and not dependent on the whim of some commercial entity. In years to come, people will wonder why very little literature remains from the 20th century. You can mostly thank Disney and Mickey Mouse for that.
