Have you ever owned an RX-7? It was pretty dang solid.
- busterarm 6y agoI literally just described the fact that I own (currently) an RX-7. How many other production rotaries are there?
- p1mrx 6y agoYour previous post does not contain the number 7.
- busterarm 6y agoFCs and FD
- twic 6y agoTo be fair, you didn't say you did or had owned one - you just told us to discount design flaws in them!
- busterarm 6y agoIn the cars, not the engines. People often conflate the two. A reasonably maintained Mazda rotary engine will have a similar lifespan to similar cars of the same era with piston engines.
- kwertyoowiyop 6y agoThere was also the RX-3.
- girvo 6y agoCosmos, a Citroen, couple others. None that saw US release though, IIRC.
- TaylorAlexander 6y agoThe only car you mention is the RX-8
- lbotos 6y agoThat's the only car you understood. FCs and FDs are different generations of RX7. It's like if I said E30 and an E89, those are cars, but I'm assuming you have no clue I'm talking about BMW cars...
- TaylorAlexander 6y agoSure but the tone of the comment was rude considering many people may miss that terminology.
- tech2 6y agoCosmo, Luce, RX-2, RX-3, I think they even did a Familia at one point.
- m463 6y agoI had an RX-7, first fuel injected model. It was pretty solid and rev'd to the moon. (Of course I think the motor was geared and I think 6000 rpm on the tach was really 2000 rpm, but hey) After about 60k miles it started getting little puffs of blue smoke when it started up (they went away in a moment). I got a good deal on another car and traded it in, but I still think about it. Newer models came along, and finally the RX-8. Now the RX-8 was nice but I believe the last generation RX-7 is one of the most beautiful cars ever.
