I often wonder, when there are technologies/commodities for which the entire world is targeting a certain 'magical' dollar threshold - how do companies establish a profit margin? For example, the cost of produced Hydrogen, or a laptop computer, or the cost of an important drug. I mean, there's obviously a point below which the profict margin is so low it becomes unsustainable, but how to you determine that cut-off exactly? (I'm tech - not a business student; I'm just curious as a human being living on earth)
