I notice that the STM32 line is actually priced on-par (or cheaper) with the ATmega chipsets, yet offers considerably more functionality (and speed). As compared to Atmel's 8-bit MCUs, what are the downsides to the STM32 for most applications, if any? Obviously there's the packaging ... Thanks!
