Ask HN: anyone know of any good co-ops

Dev and design companies are changing in that the structure might be a collective of individuals or small companies who work together to win and work on jobs. Can anyone give some ideas of succesful co-ops (remote or non-remote) as I'm very interested in finding out more about this new model?
