Malaysian official who renamed stadium denies title is his name backwards
- aaron695 6y agoI think people are realising you can just say screw it to consensus. Politicians are one group testing this. But Uber also went down this route. It might also work against cancel culture. I'd watch this space.
- mellosouls 6y ago“In Spanish or Greek, 'Ffira' means something great, while 'Mikah' in Arabic in conjunction with the name of an angel.” [claimed the official] While “mikah” resembles the Arabic word for angel, “malaikah”, “ffira” does not mean “great” in Spanish or Greek, nor does it appear to mean any other word. I ran "ffira" through Google Translate auto-detect to scoop The Indie. It reckons it's English.
- cgio 6y ago“ffira” does not mean “great” in Spanish or Greek, nor does it appear to mean any other word... Not that it transliterates to firra as such, but fyra φύρα is wastage in Greek. A bit archaic though.
- lionkor 6y agoJust admit its your name backwards, who really cares, its named now, that's it.
- karmakaze 6y agoThey should just re-name it "Firamika"
