I dunno about the rest of Europe, but at least in Iceland, Facebook is _the_ social network for interacting with people you know (and WhatsApp is _the_ messaging service). Sure, people use the others ones, but for instance all my communication with my landlord and socializing with coworkers goes through Facebook, not through any other platform. The rest are optional. Facebook isn't.
