The new Macbooks can run arm64 Linux.
- FullyFunctional 6y agoIn theory yes, in practice, only under virtualization (though I'm one of https://www.patreon.com/marcan https://www.patreon.com/marcan sponsors so maybe one day this will change). However this is a moot point as Apple doesn't sell what Pine does - Linux device. Apple sell Apple devices. If they incidentally runs Linux is irrelevant to Apple.
- Tepix 6y agoThey can't boot Linux. For a while. In fact, Apple is making it extra hard by not supplying the documentation to make it easier.
- kdtsh 6y agoYes and my toaster can run NetBSD - but who knows if it'll actually cook my bread. Who knows if the new Macbooks will even support WiFi with Linux.
- jhatemyjob 6y agoThey will.
