Whats even the point of becoming a Google or Apple if then some clueless bureaucrat gets to tell you what you are allowed to do with your market position? Nobody is stopping other companies to build their own Android or iPhone, its working as intended, no reason to do anything.
- young_unixer 6y agoYup. I'm waiting for an Iphone/Android competitor, but all of incumbents are half-baked solutions. The sanest thing you can do is use LineageOS, but I can't really trust the LineageOS team since the april fools fiasco. The lack of a third option is simply because of incompetence, not monopoly.

I think you may have inadvertently stumbled on the point of these laws. The EU doesn't want companies getting to Google or Apple scale, and all the power that amasses with it, without it being possible to ensure they're holding up EU ideals, rather than their own.
