Tyranny during its reign is unrecognised by its victims
- eesmith 6y ago"But this answer nevertheless captures the greater part of the attitude of many adults." ???? Is there any evidence for this? For example, in US history, who is the singular 'superhero' which overthrew the tyranny of King George? The US Declaration of Independence even describes it as 'absolute Tyranny', and that's likely the first example of tyranny that Americans will learn about. "Each actual tyrant points to some problem" That's .. incomplete, at best. King George didn't come to power by pointing to some problem. "The People submit. Sheeplike." Really? I was under the impression that many Germans actively wanted Hitler. In July 1932, the Nazi Party became the largest political party in the Reichstag with 230 representatives, with 37.3% of the vote. I'm confused about how "submit" and "sheeplike" can be reconciled with "enthusiastic approval". And then we get to "And so it is with today’s tyranny of hygiene socialism.". Oh, it's one of those assholes who thinks that washing hands and wearing a mask = socialism = tyranny. Kinda guessed that would be from the get-go when I saw it was from the American Institute for Economic Research. You'll note the complete lack of an ability to understand what "tyranny" is supposed to mean. What makes something a "tyranny" vs. say, "authoritarianism"? Or, twist it around - has the US been a tyranny for its entire lifetime, where the white population are the sheep? See how the lack of any definition makes the essay meaninglessly vague?
