I have a raspberry pi and encryped usb drive syncing my Google docs everyday with rclone. A nice touch with rclone is your files are synced locally as usable docs e.g docx, xls. I have also started running my own nextcloud server locally. I will probably migrate to nextcloud over the next 6 months. I will give nextcloud a good rattle before I make the change. It's awesome what Google gives away for free. Their killing off services has made me nervous enough to plan for a future where I don't rely on them.
