Yup, the developers of Operation Flashpoint and ARMA are one and the same if I remember correctly (Bohemia Interactive?). I also have to think the Operation Flashpoint influenced other games, like the first Battlefield game, which was released about a year later with a similar crazy variety of roles and vehicles. Although WWII online was of the same area and breadth, so it could have just been the zeitgeist. Edit: And in an amazing tangent, I just found out that WWII Online is still playable and in active development.
