This is still just a laboratory phenomenon. The article states that they're still building facilities to manufacture enough of this material just to make prototypes. Actual commercial production of batteries is quite a ways off.
- shuuji3 6y agoRight. The title is misleading. The original Japanese newspaper article (https://www.nikkei.com/article/DGXZQODC037540T01C20A2000000 https://www.nikkei.com/article/DGXZQODC037540T01C20A2000000) just states that the research prototype car is planed to be made in 2021.
