Other places are arguably way more progressive in their equality between men and women, and do not have this problem either. (the lesson from this should be that the USA has multiple problems, not all of which stem from lack of equality, one of which is their cultural attitude wrt capitalism, in particular being nearly blind to its obvious shortcomings)
