It's funny, I don't have a problem with sleep/wake on my 6.5 year old HP laptop under Linux but on Windows 10 it can't seem to ever stay asleep. It loves to wake up at random times and stay awake, even when it is only on battery.
With that said, Linux can't successfully manage the laptops P-States. I have to force the system to just not manage them under Linux because it will randomly lockup.
- FreeFull 6y agoWindows 10 has a setting where it'll wake up the machine to run Windows Update, and it's on by default. Perhaps if you turn that off, the random wakeups will stop.
- asciimov 6y agoI'll double check that. This is an intermittent issue, across multiple installs of windows 10, and I'm almost certain it's an issue created by one of the laptops drivers. Fortunately, I don't normally live in Windows, so I have little desire to spend much time hunting down and fixing the problem.
- fart32 6y agoTurn off wake-up by alarm in BIOS, if you can. Windows just wakes up whenever it wants and if you, somehow, manage to make it stop in the settings, it only works till the next update. At least that was my experience.
