This is exactly my situation. I work remotely as an Engineering Manager. I have a 19 month old daughter. I have a nanny that comes in from 9-530. If I need to work longer than that, I typically do so after our daughter is asleep. I've been doing this since I went back to work when she was 12 weeks old: at that time I also took breaks through the day to breastfeed. Good luck. It's the best arrangement ever.
