How is seven months of a quarantine that people didn’t take seriously equivalent to an entire generation being raised without social interaction?
Obviously wrong clickbait headlines, ad tech, and for-profit news are on my top-5 list of things that are ruining society.
- AndrewBissell 6y ago"A generation" refers to the cohort of people being raised in social isolation discussed in the article, not the length of time it has lasted. And it makes sense to focus on children as a group in particular because social interaction in their formative years is especially important for the developing psyche, so its drastic restriction under the lockdowns has a greater effect on them and will have a more distinct and lasting impact on "the generation" into the future.
