I have a T495 with a Ryzen processor running Arch that has some issues waking up (maybe once or twice a month). Sometimes it refuses to wake up, and sometimes it wakes up but CPU clock speed gets stuck at minimum frequency, making the laptop extremely sluggish until the next reboot. I also have a Legion Y520 that has been working perfectly for the past two years, so for me, the answer is that it indeed varies from laptop to laptop.
