We are removing it. When running on the CI is so slow! Also, we are moving towards contract based testing.

  Could you not still reasonably use a tool like Cypress to test a Frontend, even while the backend is mocked based on contracts (e.g. using WireMock)?

  contract based testing is for the backend not frontend, you should be using Cypress for the frontend not backend.
