- asdfman123 6y agoWell, you don't get discovered by making elevator music. Instead, someone pays you to make bad music for a captive audience. Different pathway to "success." Software is slightly different because most software is more a tool than is art. However, this applies for software that IS art, for instance, video games. You should follow your creative muse when making a video game. Less important when you're making enterprise software.
