Hawaii program will pay your airfare to live and work remotely from the islands
- uberman 6y agoMy family gave a serious look at this, or as an alternative just relocating ourselves for a while, but in the end it would have required our kids to go to bed immediately after dinner and to be in school hours before the sun would even be up. I got a lot of family hate for having suggested something this cool only to ultimately be the one to veto it.
- elmerfud 6y agoPerhaps the draconian entry polices they are enforcing have contributed to their tourism collapse. Maybe rethinking those or a good court challenge is what's needed instead of a program like this. https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/504423-doj-backs-legal-challenge-to-hawaii-travel-quarantine-requirement https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/504423-doj-back... Protection of public health and rights of citizenship need to strike a balance. DOJ seems to also believe they are not in balance. Some states have done a better job than others but right now hawaii is the worst in my opinion and I have no desire to give them a dime of tax money.
