People are people - some people don't like feedback however it's presented, some people don't care about the presentation of the feedback, and will take onboard points without sugar-coating, and some people need more delicate treatment. Being a good manager means learning how to communicate effectively with all these different types of people and many others, but you can't learn that from a book.
