Interesting. I came across some other interesting audio projects with RPi. For my daugther I set up a "Phoniebox" (RFID based audio player with buttons, https://github.com/MiczFlor/RPi-Jukebox-RFID https://github.com/MiczFlor/RPi-Jukebox-RFID). Then there is volumio (https://volumio.org/ https://volumio.org/), which i found to be pretty slow on older RPis. And "SSRPAR" (Bluetooth-Receiver, https://github.com/BaReinhard/Super-Simple-Raspberry-Pi-Audio-Receiver-Install https://github.com/BaReinhard/Super-Simple-Raspberry-Pi-Audi...) which can be used to build a pretty good car audio host, but no longer actively maintained.
