Why does the public get to decide what a private company hosts?
- djfobbz 6y agoActually, shareholders do get a say in what a publicly traded company hosts!
- xxpor 6y agoThat's not the public. But I'm fine with owners of a company deciding what they would like to host.
- friendlybus 6y agoThey do via proxy of government laws. The public vs megacorp is not a balanced relationship anyway and will eventually get regulated.
- wolco2 6y agoBecause this publically traded company (not private) invites the public to view and share content. Now the public is voicing concern over who they are censoring. If Google doesn't like it they are free to shutdown the service.
- jpttsn 6y agoIt often does. You want it to, in many cases.
