Society can only function if those with opposing views at least agree on ground rules to debate on. Unchecked expression of view with no option for rebuttal from the other side will only destroy society. We have cases were US Senate candidates don't even show up for pre-election debates.
- giantg2 6y agoWhy should they (rhetorical)? Many people vote based on political identity rather than actual positions or accomplishments anyways. (I hate those blanket options on the first page of the ballot to vote the entire ballot for one party or the other. People should at least go through and make sure the names are the ones they researched.)
