The criticism of China lays squarely at CCP and their abuse of power. My original comment is pointing out how the CCP uses data to oppress minorities. The equivalent would be Trump forcing Facebook and Google to turn over their data so he can go after Blacks and Mexicans. I agree that companies in the US has too much power in what they can do with personal data. This needs more scrutiny.
