Ask HN: How would you prepare for 6 months without internet?
This may or may not be a shamelessly self-interested question, since I will soon be in an connection-free environment until June for work. That said, I think it's an interesting thought exercise. What tools/materials would you download in advance? What projects would you work on to stay productive? Curious to see what ideas HNers come up with.
- bitxbitxbitcoin 6y ago1. A good game that can be played offline 2. A wikipedia database download 3. 100 books from Libgen that you know you'll want to read eventually. Should all fit comfortably on a cheap USB drive, but maybe get two for redundancy.

You can be connection-free and still geekier than those you leave behind for that time. https://othernet.is/products/dreamcatcher-v3-05 https://othernet.is/products/dreamcatcher-v3-05 Some history etc. of what OtherNet is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Othernet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Othernet
