what kind of doors can I install so that cops cannot casually barge into my home, and I will have enough time to finish my rsync remote backup?

- three_seagrass 6y agoThe cops didn't barge in in this instance. They showed up and (claimed) to have waited at the door for 20 minutes to be let in. Still doesn't excuse pointing a firearm at her and her family.

When she shouts that the officer is aiming at her child he is not aiming at a child ( she wouldn't be able to see from her position ) . I would be interested to see the whole video. Throw away for obvious reasons.
- jkhdigital 6y agoIf they even did that. Given the history on this one, I’m going to take all statements, on both sides, with a mountain of salt.
- neolog 6y agoJust have regular automated backups?
- bob1029 6y agoYou could certainly install a door that would be nearly impenetrable for the average police force, but there are other side channels to consider (windows). In my viewing of the internet, I have found that police will quickly resort to things like windows when some joker decides to install a bank vault for a front door. Think about this - Do you want the police kicking in your cheap-ass wooden door, causing $300 in damage. Or, do you want them tying a bearcat to the side of your house, ripping out your entire living room wall?
- koonsolo 6y agoWhat if you have security glass as windows? Most of my windows go all the way to the floor (modern house), and so had to be security glass (regulation in Belgium, don't know if it's needed anywhere else). It's not extremely expensive, and gives an extra roadblock for burglars.
