Does anyone still use multi-seat Linux installations?
- Something1234 6y agoDoes anyone still use a multiseat installation of Linux? Why is it continuing to be supported? It's without a doubt cool, and probably useful for thin clients, but what can I do with it now?
- _red 6y agoThe entire OS depends on having different users. Services like apache, chrony, avahi, dbus, etc don't run as root because of the security implications.
- Something1234 6y agoWell yeah, I'm talking about multiple seats connected to a single computer directly. I could see applications in the thin client space.
- knaq 6y agoIt got used for school computer labs. Four of each: student, keyboard, mouse, screen, chair Just one: table, computer
- Something1234 6y agoHave you seen this implemented recently like in the past 5 years?
