- chasil 6y agoHello, Oracle Linux. http://linux.oracle.com http://linux.oracle.com
- digitalsushi 6y agoisn't Oracle Linux just CentOS wtih an oracle sticker and a contract?
- chasil 6y agoOracle has a page describing the difference: https://linux.oracle.com/switch/centos/ https://linux.oracle.com/switch/centos/ They have a shell script to convert a CentOS install to Oracle Linux, so you can buy support if you want. The converter only works with versions 5, 6, and 7. It does not work with CentOS 8. It would be nice if that could get updated.
- phone8675309 6y agoThey specifically made Scientific Linux as a royalty free alternative to RHEL so I can’t imagine they’d jump to a royalty-encumbered value loss Oracle Linux distro.
