> Why is climate change a left or right issue?
Because as with all politics it determines the distribution of resources. Those who stand to gain v/s those who stand to lose have both heavily manipulated the science, or at least the reporting.
> Why is wearing masks a left or right issue?
Voluntary masking wouldn't be. Compulsory masking runs afoul of those who have a fundamental belief in self-ownership, negative rights and reject most positive rights [1]. This has deep political roots.

- objectivetruth 6y agoYeah, that's why all the anti-maskers screaming at their rallies are waving around their guns and big signs that say "I reject Rousseau!" It _does_ have political roots, though, so you're right about that. But it's much simpler than presuming a bunch of OANN viewers have read anything more complex than Ayn Rand. The President didn't want to wear a mask in public, so he scorned mask-wearing - contrary to every public health directive - and now a significant portion of the populace refuses to take that incredibly simple step that has been proven over and over to dramatically reduce infection rates. That's it. It really is _that_ simple.
