This has started happening for me in the US with my Visa card.
- thescriptkiddie 6y agoThat is 3D secure, which is just an additional authentication level on top of regular credit cards. It protects merchants from accepting stolen credit cards, but doesn't really protect the card holder from a malicious merchant.
- Drdrdrq 6y agoNor does it need to. Card holder has a more powerful weapon: chargeback.
