The important thing is that most software being written is CRUD or at least can be served by pretty simple and standard tools and architecture. Even more accurately and more importantly from the perspective of this comment: most software developers will be working on such projects. And this is the gist, because a lot of folks talk about all these exotic/cool/cutting edge solutions while most people don't need or even should not to use them to get their job done.
