Former congressman proposes paying 1500 USD incentive to vaccine recipients
- tannerbrockwell 6y agoDrastically less than the current program allows. "The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program is a no-fault alternative to the traditional legal system for resolving vaccine injury petitions. It was created in the 1980s, after lawsuits against vaccine companies and health care providers threatened to cause vaccine shortages and reduce U.S. vaccination rates, which could have caused a resurgence of vaccine preventable diseases." - lazylizard 6y agowhy not start at $1500 n $10 less everyday afterwards?
- wyldfire 6y agoI imagine it would be time bound, like "before October 1, 2021". But given the limited availability of the vaccine and tiered status groups to whom it's made available, it seems like an unnecessary complication to reduce the award for some. IMO legislation for incentives that consider all the adults in the US should be very simple and broad in order to be effective. All kinds of edge cases to worry about, no reason to be stingy with this program. It could pay for itself.
