Yeah, researchgate is a shame. There ought to be a niche for an academic website, but it hasn’t worked out. I get more value from connecting on Twitter. Turns out that plus biorxiv/arxiv/[insert your discipline’s version] works better.
- tasogare 6y agoYes, but again you’ll see there is pattern here: *rxiv are still kinda geek oriented, in addition to being for preprints. Twitter is indeed more accessible to people in other fields like humanities, but that’s another silo that has even bigger problem and more disgusting behavior.
