Traditionally Business Analysts (BAs) had the same role as Product Managers, but were also tasked with testing the product to ensure the product met specifications. This was common in the Systems Integration type consulting firms (Accenture, IBMGS,...) and also in Financial Services. With Product Managers, I have noted they do not typically have the testing role.
