A whole universe of replacements out there (that are also incompatible with PHP5/7) ...just don't be lazy and use Node.js (even Ryan Dahl disavows it) or Ruby (I hear DHH say "look what I'm not doing" whenever I see the word Ruby). If you can't find anything cool, try Go.

- vaxman 6y agoYeah, because PHP8, NodeJS (abandoned by its creator), Ruby (DHH is off battling Apple these days) are all there is! Back in the day we used to call wars over languages and architectures “rWars” We knew better than to build an upvote/downvote system because the BASIC and COBOL people outnumbered everyone by 100-to-1!
